Call for interns

We are currently looking for interns/volunteers to assist us in the design, preparation and realization of projects for our Society. The focus of our activities is primarily the organization of academic, cultural and social functions, the publication of the results of our scholarly research in our own journal, as well as the management of our local, regional and national contacts to media, government officials and the public.

Humanitarian Help for Children in Iraq

In December 2011, the Ezidische Akademie (EA) e.V. Hannover and The Society for Endangered Peoples e.V. in Göttingen sent an emergency transport with supplies to the Shingal region in North Iraq. They relied on and strengthened already existing contacts to individuals and Non Government Organizations (NGOs) there. The suffering of the population was determined to be so great that both organizations wish to initiate an aid program: "Humanitarian Help for Children in Iraq."  For this reason, plans are underway for a group to visit the Shingal region in October 2012. We are trying to make it possible, for example, to bring one -- or perhaps two to three -- severely handicapped children along on the return trip for medical treatment in Germany. We are in contact with German NGOs who have shown interest in giving us their support.

Statement of the Ezidische Akademie in response to the incidents in Detmold and Stolzenau

In the past weeks, two murders, in which Yazidis were involved, have received much attention in the German media: in Remminghausen, near Detmold, 18-year-old Arzu Ö. was kidnapped by her siblings because she had fallen in love with a German youth; it is feared that she was also murdered.  In Stolzenau, Lower Saxony, 13-year-old Zozan B. was shot to death by her father because she had run away from home as a result of problems with her parents.

New publication: Yezidism for children

The booklet is pedagogically prepared by teaching staff and pedagogues and can hence also be used for educational purposes such as religious education.
